Ginger when applied on the skin can increase its brightness and decrease the inflammation caused, for instance, by psoriasis or acne. Ginger's antioxidant, gingerol, not only fights free radicals that damage the skin but also softens and uniforms the tone of the skin. Ginger also has the ability to lighten age spots while acting as an activator in spa's aromatherapy treatments. As it is energizing and is known to improve circulation, it is often also used in treatments to reduce cellulite.
