Extraction: It is a linear chain fatty alcohol with 20 carbon atoms, generally obtained through the hydrogenation of arachidic acid or arachidonic acid, which are present in peanut oil.  

Benefits: It is used as an emulsifying, thickening and emollient agent in cosmetics
