TURPENTINE

Obtention:
It is a blend of terpenic compounds (mainly monoterpenes like alpha-pinene and beta-pinene) obtained from resins and exudates of conifers (mainly pines). Traditionally, it is produced by distillation of oleoresin (pine resin) or as a by-product of industrial processes related to wood.

Benefits:
In formulation, it has been primarily used as a solvent and for its resinous/balsamic scent.
