It also prevents the accumulation of fat and improves the appearance of hair. Vegetable glycerin can be used as a diluent and as an alcohol substitute when preparing herbal extracts.

Extraction: jojoba oil is extracted from the jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis) nut (seed). Actually, it functions more like a wax that is liquid at room temperature than an oil. 96% of its composition consists of ceramides.

Benefits: highly moisturizing and nourishing. Ceramides cover the cells of the epidermis and to help regulate and intensify hydration. They are very similar to human skin, which is why they are absorbed and act quickly and are not oily to the touch. Jojoba oil also contains linoleic acid which is a very effective at restructuring and regenerating natural skin. Its vitamin E content also helps to rejuvenate skin and provides defence against free radicals. In addition, it is ideal for oily and acne-prone skin because it absorbs accumulated sebum and helps minimise breakouts. 

Extraction: It is a fatty acid ester product coming from the reaction between isoamyl alcohol and lauric acid. It has an oily liquid consistency and it is transparent.

Benefits: It is used as an emollient, and offers protection to the skin and hair. It provides a light finish that prevents loss of hydration. It also has good miscibility with other surfactants.

Extraction: sesame oil is obtained by cold pressing its seeds. Sesamum Indicum is a flowering plant of the Pedaliaceae family. It was cultivated in Mesopotamia at least four milleniums ago. Currently it is still popular in Eastern and American countries, in the form of seed, oil or derivatives.

Benefits: it has photoprotective, moisturising, antibacterial and antioxidant properties. It acts on the horny layer, fighting common inflammations of sensitive skins, such as dermatitis. Its photoprotective properties make it ideal for protecting the skin from damage caused by sun.

Extraction: capers grow in the Mediterranean area and can survive in extreme conditions, from very high to very low temperatures. The buds of its flowers are used in traditional Arabian medicine for its bioactive constituents such as flavonoids.

Benefits: quercetin- 3-rutinoside is a flavonoid that combats ageing due to mitochondrial dysfunctions, increasing the production of mitochondria and energy contribution, showing its anti-fatigue properties.

Extraction: the black moral leaves are very valuable for their nutritional properties. They are currently used as infusions in Japan and Korea, and also in traditional medicine in China and India.

Benefits: they have many phenolic components, among which chlorogenic acid. This acid acts as a protector of the mitochondria, which prevents oxidative stress and has antioxidant properties. They also represent an illuminating agent, and act against the hyperpigmentation of skin, improving its general complexion.
